We’ve been a bit spoilt this month with reviews – and are looking forward to our new mystery diner programme starting so we can ensure we exceed expectations every single day!
“I visited Ayoush with my family as a belated Mother’s Day meal. We have a fabulous time. The food was fantastic, tasty and plenty of it. The cocktails were varied with some different choices you don’t see on most menus. Great entertainment as we had a belly dancer who danced around but didn’t encroach on personal space as they quite often do. The staff were second to none. Happy to help with anything, very attentive. After dinner we smoked some shisha which was of a good quality and the coals were changed without even having to ask. “I visited this place last week with a friend and had a very enjoyable dinner. We had a starter of meze which was six or so different dishes including hummous, falafel and sambusas which were all freshly cooked and full of flavour.
We then had mixed kebabs – a skewer each of chicken, shish and kofte kebab, served with a portion of delicious rice and salad. The starter was so filling that I only managed half of the main course.”

There’s plenty going on all around our three venues in Bourne End, Eton and London but as we’re situated perfectly on the High Street in Eton we’re most excited about the street party there on Sunday 3rd June.
We’re hoping for great weather and will throw open our doors to serve hot merghuez sausage sandwiches with mustard (a North African favourite) and falafel sandwiches to passers by, with our full menu being served all day inside.
On Monday 4th June we’re doing our popular 3 course all you can eat buffet. See the fabulous menu here, just £17.50 a head. Served from 12pm ’til 3pm then 7pm ’til 11pm, celebrate with a special Jubilee Mojito cocktail for £4.00.

Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
550g lean lamb , cubed
1 onion , chopped
2 garlic cloves , crushed
700ml lamb or chicken stock
grated zest and juice 1 orange
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp clear honey
175g ready-to-eat dried apricots
3 tbsp chopped fresh mint
25g ground almonds
25g toasted flaked almonds
steamed broccoli and couscous
Method
Heat the oil in a large flameproof casserole. Add the lamb and cook over a medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until evenly browned, stirring often. Remove the lamb to a plate, using a slotted spoon.
Stir the onion and garlic into the casserole and cook gently for 5 minutes until softened. Return the lamb to the pot. Add the stock, zest and juice, cinnamon, honey and salt and pepper. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat, cover and cook gently for 1 hour.
Add the apricots and two-thirds of the mint and cook for 30 minutes until the lamb is tender. Stir in the ground almonds to thicken the sauce. Serve with the remaining mint and toasted almonds scattered over the top.

Rowing excitement
Since we opened Eton almost 18 months ago we have loved being part of this wonderful, vibrant community. The local people and tourists have embraced what Ayoush is all about and we are very happy we came here with our third Ayoush venue.
The excitement around the Olympic rowing and kayaking being held at Dorney Lakes in Eton is palpable. The Eton Traders Association are helping local businesses to make the most out of the opportunity and buzz. So with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations then Olympics just around the corner, we are gearing up operations, menus, marketing and staff to be ready for a summer to remember.
Although we have stopped short of actually getting in a rowing boat. So far!!

If you didnt know, our venues can do take-aways and Eton does quite a few including an order for 10 chicken tagines recently. If you’re throwing a party at home then why not grab a takeaway that’s different?

We wish to let you know that our Bourne End venue will be closed for refurbishment from the weekend starting 26th February. We will have exciting news in summer 2012 for all our customers so please check back then.
In the meantime our Eton venue at 55 High Street, Eton would be delighted to welcome you. And of course London is always open for those visiting or working in the capital.
Eton will be extremely busy as the venue for the Olympics rowing events so if you are wanting to hold a birthday, celebration or just book for dinner during the Olympics please book early.
